Adult Choir


Craig Courtney is our Conductor in Residence. He is an internationally known composer and conductor. He is the staff composer and Executive Music Editor for Beckenhorst Press in Columbus, Ohio. Craig also serves as the director of the Chordsmen at Capital University. 

Choir School is deeply appreciative, excited and humbled by his presence, direction and his committment to our mission.

Crystal Harris is the Adult Mixed Choir Accompanist. Crystal Harris studied Music Business at Anderson University.  She has served as accompanist for groups and events such as Anderson University's Women's Chorus, Indianapolis Young Musician Contest, Anderson Symphony Orchestra, and National Teachers of Singing Competition.  Crystal currently teaches piano privately and continues to serve as accompanist for her local church in Muncie along with area events and competitions.

Youth Choir

John McClain modified

John M. McClain is the Director of Choirs at Logan High School and leads music in worship at Union Furnace United Methodist Church.  John is a native of Logan, Ohio and teaches grades nine through twelve at Logan High School.  He directs six high school choral ensembles and developed and implemented curricula for History of Rock and Roll and Music Theory courses.

Under his direction, the Logan High School Chamber Singers will be one of 13 choirs across the United States to be a part of the premiere Music for All, National Choral Festival in March of 2018. As a graduate of Capital University, He sang in the Capital University Chapel Choir, Philomel under the direction of Dr. Lynda Hasseler and the Chordsmen under the direction of Mr. Craig Courtney. He acted as a tenor section leader and soloist in those ensembles.  Some of John's solo ventures include performing the Star Spangled Banner for former President Obama and singing as soloist in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.



Instrumental Ensemble


Sue Blaese will direct the Instrumental Ensemble. She is adjunct faculty in orchestra at Elmhurst College where she conducts the Varsity Strings, coaches chamber ensembles and teaches private lessons for the Community Music program. Ms. Blaese taught for 33 years, retiring in 2013. She is an active guest conductor and clinician for workshops and festivals throughout the Midwest region.  She received her bachelors and masters degrees from University of Illinois.
